Butterfield is located in El Paso County on the Western tip of Texas. It is a small suburb of El Paso with a total area of 3.2 square miles of land. Butterfield is just under 20 miles from the El Paso International Airport and 23 miles from the border of Mexico. In 1906 a group of investors purchased an area of land that was to be used as a fruit orchard. The orchard was named Butterfield Farm, or just Butterfield after a man that served as the manager of the land. In 1907 Butterfield hired local farmers to plant peach trees, cotton, corn watermelons, peas, and several other fruits and vegetables. The orchard was operated for several years but was never commercially successful.
Around 1910 a railroad spur was built that would attach the Butterfield orchard to the Texas and Southwestern Railroad just a few miles away. In 1944 the orchard and surrounding area was purchased by Jeter I. Dean and converted into a cattle ranch. Some of the original buildings were still standing in the early 1990s, but the majority of the sheds around the orchard are no longer there.
The Butterfield area gets less than one-quarter of the average rainfall each year compared to the rest of the United States. To put this into perspective, imagine it raining for only 2 straight days out of the year and then nothing else. This drier weather can lead to random brush fires as well as other fire damage incidents. Even though the Butterfield area is just over 700 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, it can still have to deal with the remnants of some hurricane and tropical storm weather. In the past 50 years, winds from hurricanes have been recorded at over 110mph and much greater rainfall than the average yearly amount.

unfortunately, there were two leaks in the waterlines at my house , and as a result my garage, living room and one bathroom were flooded. SERVPRO did an excellent job in cleaning up and especially drying my carpet which was extremely soaked. They also measured the water damage inside the walls, removed the floor boards and put up 13 fans and blowers to dry everything. I was extremely satisfied with their service.
Carlos Martinez was sent to my home to dry the carpets and remove any water damage. I wasn’t going to take the service but after he showed me that the walls were wet, I decided to go with SERVPRO. Everything was explained thoroughly and I was made clearly aware of all the steps for the water remediation. It's very hard to get good service and very few companies are ever on time. I definitely recommend this company and am so glad that I called them.
I called SERVPRO and gave them my claim number. I was given an estimate of 3-4 hours for a team to arrive, due to the heavy volume of calls. Sebastian arrived in about 1 ½ hours. He explained the process and immediately started the water extraction. Others arrived mid-afternoon. All worked incredibly hard to finish the water extraction, removing baseboards, making holes for drainage/airflow, cutting out walls, removing insulation, checking the moisture levels, setting up their equipment. Our questions were answered in detail and in a very professional manner. The employees were careful and thoughtful to minimize damage to our belongings, the walls, doors, windows, cabinets, etc.. The last day was checking moisture levels, ensuring any walls, trim, nails, etc. needing to be removed were; swept and vacuumed the base plates and floors, mopped the floors and removed the last of the debris and their equipment. Our7 day SERVPRO experience was great (excluding the necessary noise). Our team was extremely professional, knowledgeable, detail oriented, careful, and personable. Sebastian was EXCEPTIONAL! Our team’s personnel are extraordinary assets to SERVPRO. It’s hard to find employees with a strong work ethic who take pride in their work, have a great attitude towards the job and the customer, are reliable, and considerate of the customer and their property.
