In the 1980's and 1990's, they revamped the city to be more of a family-friendly area. In 1999 the Newport Aquarium was built. It is an amazing aquarium. In 2000, the Newport Entertainment Complex opened, Newport on the Levee. It is a very popular place visited by many families. There is so much to offer at Newport on the Levee. There is dining, shopping and entertainment. Newport on the Levee offers a park, AMC theaters, Par 3, Immersive Gamebox, and the aquarium for entertainment. The dining includes a variety of restaurants and ice-cream such as, Cold Stone Creamery, Brio. Brothers Bar and Grill and West 6th Brewery.
