River Terrace is a neighborhood on the eastern bank of the Anacostia River in Northeast Washington, D.C. River Terrace has about 1,970 residents. The neighborhood is bounded by DC Route 295 to the east, and the Anacostia River to the west. The community has a park and nearby shopping. The neighborhood was built on 65 acres of undeveloped land in 1937. The architecture in River Terrace is interesting, it was designed by one of Washington, DC's most prolific architects, George Thomas Santmyers, Jr. In 1937 the row houses in this neighborhood had hip roofs, and the exterior finishes were designed to resemble a rustic English village. Later, in 1958 community was built-out and it had about 1,000 single-family homes and 7 apartment buildings. Over time neighborhood traditions have included youth gardening programs, block parties, and December holiday parties, as well as "River Terrace Day and Parade" in June.

If you ever wondered whether that whole "Make like it never even happened happen" ad campaign was truthful? I'm here to tell you - It is. Quite happy with ServPro and Alex's, Claudia's, Juan's, and Enzo's teams, if really unhappy with why we needed their services in the first place. Board-up on day of event, water-and-smoke remediation/cleaning, textile cleaning (part of smoke remediation), unpacking return of textiles, and building contractor for a minor rebuild. Expensive? I dunno, I'd like to think you get what you pay for, and the expertise in dealing with this stuff professionally was readily apparent - and the people we dealt with were great. Biggest issue was on textile with some items that were damaged. In the grand scheme, nuisance, and not horrible. We don't ever want to go thru that again, but if we do, I wouldn't hesitate to work with ServPro again. They were great. Thanks.
