Park View is a neighborhood near Howard University, in central Washington, D.C. The neighborhood's name comes from the views east over the campus of the Old Soldiers' Home. Park View is a quiet corner of the city and is primarily a residential community. The revitalization of the corridor began with the E.L. Haynes Public Charter School, founded in 2004, and Temperance Hall in 2006. Since that time, a number of new restaurants and shops have opened, and the commercial revitalization of the community continues. The area that defines the Park View neighborhood extends from Gresham Place north to Rock Creek Church Road, and from Georgia Avenue to the Soldiers' Home grounds. On June 4, 1886, the transition of the rural community to the west of the Soldiers' Home into Washington's Park View neighborhood began. The Soldiers' Home granted permission to the neighborhood to hold their Fourth of July celebrations there in 1917. Today Georgia Avenue is the commercial artery of Park View. It was built in 1810 which makes it one of Washington's oldest streets connecting the city of Washington to nearby neighborhoods.

If you ever wondered whether that whole "Make like it never even happened happen" ad campaign was truthful? I'm here to tell you - It is. Quite happy with ServPro and Alex's, Claudia's, Juan's, and Enzo's teams, if really unhappy with why we needed their services in the first place. Board-up on day of event, water-and-smoke remediation/cleaning, textile cleaning (part of smoke remediation), unpacking return of textiles, and building contractor for a minor rebuild. Expensive? I dunno, I'd like to think you get what you pay for, and the expertise in dealing with this stuff professionally was readily apparent - and the people we dealt with were great. Biggest issue was on textile with some items that were damaged. In the grand scheme, nuisance, and not horrible. We don't ever want to go thru that again, but if we do, I wouldn't hesitate to work with ServPro again. They were great. Thanks.
