When Water-Fire-Storm Damage Happens in Weyauwega, We’re Ready
Like so many of the towns and cities in the Fox Valley area, Weyauwega traces its name and roots back to native Americans. Weyauwega, otherwise known as Wega by the locals, is a town in Waupaca County off Highway 110 near Fremont. The name Weyauwega means “Here we rest” because the town was originally used as a stopping point between two rivers where native Americans had to portage (French word meaning “to carry”) their canoes.
What was once known as the Yellowstone Trail goes right through Weyauwega. The Yellowstone Trail was conceived back in 1912 when automobiles were really starting to become popular, but many roads were still mud and there was a lack of all-weather paved roads. A group of small-town businessmen in South Dakota set out to create a useful route across the country by forming the Yellowstone Trail Association. “The Yellowstone Trail Association located a route, motivated road improvements, produced maps and folders to guide the traveler, and promoted tourism along its length.” It became the first transcontinental automobile highway through the upper tier of states. It ran from Plymouth, Massachusetts, through Montana to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, to the Pacific Ocean in Seattle Washington. Many areas of the highway remain as they once were and have changed very little due to them being on less traveled roads.
On the road in Weyauwega’s Peterson Park, you'll find a painted silo that tells the story of the town's heritage. Art in all forms is close to the heart of the people from Weyauwega, especially those who are a part of the Wega arts program and attend the historic George Gerold Opera house. The opera house was built in 1915 and is host to an array of events such as weddings, concerts, banquets and much more. You can check out more about their events here: https://wegaarts.org/gerold-opera-house/.

What our Weyauwega
customers are saying
"Good job by all"
"I was very stressed and unsure about the next steps when SERVPRO arrived. My mind was quickly set at ease when C.J. said, 'This is a once-in-a-lifetime event for you, but it's just another Tuesday at SERVPRO. Let's talk about your priorities.' "
From the "Three Cheers" Section of the Dallas Morning News
“SERVPRO – The cavalry arrived on a recent Sunday afternoon to our house in the form of four bright green SERVPRO trucks with Appleton, Wis., painted on the sides. When the SERVPRO Operations manger first called us to schedule an appointment after the storm, I noticed a strange 920 area code. After making the appointment, I thought I should do a bit of work to make sure it wasn’t some sort of scam. As the Dallas Morning News Watchdog says, “It’s good to be overly careful.”
I called the local SERVPRO franchisee and found out that the company brought in over 1,000 folks from around the country to help Texans get their homes back in shape. A woman on the crew told me that this was her first time to help during a disaster and that she is proud to be helping people recover.
I am thrilled there are people like her and the rest of the team. I just wanted to say thank you and recognize all those who traveled far to help.
I’m sure there are others from around the country, and this “Three Cheers” is for all who have come here to help."
"Many many thanks for your help this morning with the furniture, having the guys help meant so much. That was so considerate of you and them to give us a helping hand. THANKS AGAIN."
"Rhonda was great -- thank you!"
"Nobody can beat the turnaround time."
