Little Chute is a village in Outagamie County directly east of Appleton along the Fox River. Like almost all of the Fox Valley and surrounding areas its heritage can be traced back to Native Americans and French settlers who engaged in the fur trade. The French explorers called it “Le Petite Chute”, Little Chute. But what sets Little Chute apart from other areas in the Fox Valley is the Dutch immigrants led by Father Theodore J. Van Den Broek.
Father Theodore J. Van Den Broek was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands in June 1784 to wealthy parents. He was highly educated and fluent in six languages. He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1808. In 1832 he went to America to become a missionary. After about two years in Cincinnati, Ohio, he went to Green Bay, Wisconsin where he met the Gringnon family. The Gringnon family was a prominent family in the early development of Kaukauna. It is likely Father Van Den Broek’s connection to the Grignon family is what prompted him to settle in the Little Chute area. He quickly began writing letters about the area to groups in the Netherlands. His letters were published in a Roman Catholic paper. He spoke of, “the land at La Petite Chute and employment opportunities associated with the Fox River Canal, which included free passage to America for workers. The results were immediate and, by 1848, three wooden sailing vessels called ‘barks’ or ‘barque’ (small three-masted sailing ships) the Libra, the Maria Magdalena and the America,[15] had been booked for passage to the east coast of the United States. Approximate 918 Dutch Catholic immigrants were on the three boats.”
Today, many of the residents of the Fox Valley area can trace their ancestry back to these early Dutch immigrants. “Little Chute has a full-scale authentic working Dutch windmill operated by Little Chute Windmill, a non-profit organization. The Little Chute Windmill and Van Asten Visitor Center, completed in 2013, serves as a museum and tourist attraction that promotes the history and Dutch heritage of the community.” For more visit: Little Chute Windmill |

"Thank you for your promptness, efficiency, and courtesies during this whole process"
"Great staff"
"Luke and his crew did a great job, clean, quick and informative."
"Dear SERVPRO of Appleton, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the tremendous experience I had with your staff.....Actually I experienced 2 crises in a 4 month period.....My second flood occurred 5 weeks before my son's wedding which was due to take place in my home. This time the damage was so severe it required extensive renovation of my main floor as well as basement ceiling and floors.....Your staff (headed up by Joyce for the demo/remediation and Deb Solway for the rebuild) are phenomenal. They both were very respectful of my home, my belongings, my timeline, my questions as well as my fears and worries. They brought in a large crew and the demo/remediation was resolved in a week. Joyce checked on the progress daily in person and by phone. The crew she had here worked diligently to pack and move all our belongings, remove the damaged items, set up dryers and fans and even pulled what seemed like a million staples from the subflooring. Joyce and Deb also worked expertly with my insurance adjuster and dealt with all my questions and concerns. They told me exactly what to expect and what my next steps would be. Then Deb took over for the rebuild.....Deb took care of everything to make sure it was all taken are of from carpentry to electricians to plumbers. Deb was unflappable whether it was a delay in Home Depot shipping all my flooring or a new commode that was delivered broken. She made sure our project kept moving forward. Constant communication was key and Deb was exceptional! Bottom line the repairs were done in 5 weeks. They finished the night before the wedding. All of the guests were so impressed with how wonderful the house looked. That is due to SERVPRO's staff and their effectiveness. You gave me back my home not just my house. Thank you somehow doesn't seem to cover it!"
"Thank you again for your great timeliness, service and patience. I will recommend SERVPRO to anyone in need. You have been more than professional & courteous with me."
Dear Mr. Snyder, My sister and I wanted to express our appreciation & gratitude to you and your awesome team at SERVPRO. We have worked with your company before (long distance) and had confidence everything would be taken care of beyond our expectations. I should add, my sister from Atlanta and I have been working to sell our mom's condo in Fox Crossing after her passing in late January. We worked with Joyce Ebajan, who could not have been more helpful and accommodating. After helping to clear some of the bags in the garage, she called early one morning and said Lura Hall had mentioned a need for some furniture (for a charity)! How providential is that?! It is such a stressful, emotional time and to know a good bulk of the furniture went to a worthy cause makes the heart a little lighter! Joyce sent a truck and two strong young men (Cody & Demond), to do the heavy lifting! What a gift and a blessing you and your crew have been. God bless and many, many thanks. Beverly
"Debbie, ....I want to thank you and SERVPRO for the excellent and professional service you provided. Your staff was outstanding, wonderful to work with and certainly demonstrated their skills and experience."
"Nobody can beat the turnaround time."
"Good job by all"
