Bordered by the Columbia River at the most SouthWest reaches of Washington is Felida. Just 7 miles North of downtown, this family friendly neighborhood has been growing in popularity. Along NW Lakeshore Avenue, you will find desirable restaurants, cafes, shopping and fitness studios. Although largely residential, Felida has its own natural treasure, Vancouver Lake Park. This regional park features 190 acres to enjoy; many visit for kayaking, canoeing and there are many rowing competitions throughout the year. There are 2.5 miles of shoreline, making this a favorite location to walk your furry best friend or enjoy some picnicking in the warmer months.
In February of 1996, Felida (a known floodplain) and areas surrounding Vancouver Lake experienced the most recent major flooding in Clark County’s history. Approximately 120 businesses and close to 300 homes had experienced flood damage, taking on a few inches of water to 3 or 4 feet. The cause of the flooding was due to an influx of warmer temperatures, extended rainfall and snowmelt. This caused the many surrounding waterways to flood, raising the Columbia River from the normal 8 feet to 27.2 feet. Prior to the flood of ‘96 was The Christmas Flood of 1964 - causing $430 million in damages.

Obviously nobody wants to have to a disaster in their home like we did, but thankfully, SERVPRO fixed everything in minimal time and the job they did was fantastic!
We called right after an upstairs flood. Andrew, a Technician, was on call and called us back immediately. Andrew came out right away, accompanied by Cody. Both were knowledgeable, professional, respectful (wore face masks during COVID pandemic) and thorough - putting us immediately at ease about all of our worries.
In the end, they were careful to only tear down the minimal amount of drywall necessary. Erica in the office handled the insurance and helped us through the process.
Hopefully it will be a long time before we have any further flooding or emergencies, but we would certainly use SERVPRO of Vancouver again if we had to. Highly recommend!!!
