West Hurley, NY is a hamlet in the town of Hurley, located inside Catskill Park in Ulster County. A small, quiet, and woodsy setting, this area is not heavily travelled by tourists but is located a very short drive from the larger town of Hurley, the Catskill Mountains and all its glory, and the Ashokan Reservoir. Fun fact, the original village of West Hurley was one of many villages flooded at the building of the Ashokan Dam and had to be relocated to the north bank of the reservoir. West Hurley was found to be rich in shale (bluestone) and the village was established in 1917 as a result of the quarry industry.
While most of the traffic flowing in and out pertains to the outdoor activities of the Catskill Mountains, the residents can enjoy peace and quaintness of their village. The Ashokan Rail Trail offers 11 miles of stunning views as you walk or bike your way around. There are a few small restaurants and boutique stores as you go along the way to nearby Hurley, Kingston, or Woodstock.

It was an extremely stressful situation for many reasons and Wanda made me feel totally supported. As an account management/customer service professional I truly value and recognize when someone goes above and beyond. I would also be remiss if I did not acknowledge Gil Ortiz who was very thorough and helpful, and the team that was onsite that did the cleaning (unfortunately I don’t recall these names but hopefully you can reference internally). They were all also very professional and provided superior service. While I hope not to have another disaster I would highly recommend Wanda and SERVPRO to family and friends.

As a property manager, there are a lot of people of moving parts and a lot of people to work with when it comes to remedying damage from water.
