2019 Flooding in Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska: SERVPRO Team Toft Gets You Back Up and Running in No Time

Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, is a small but historically rich community with roots dating back to its founding in 1886. The village earned its name from the cedar-covered bluff located just north of the Platte River, a notable landmark along the Mormon, Oregon, and California Trails. As travelers moved westward, Cedar Bluffs became a key stop, and the town flourished thanks to the steady trade that came from surrounding territories. Early community infrastructure included the first schoolhouse, built in 1872. Unfortunately, that original building burned down a decade later after travelers who had camped inside left embers behind, an early reminder of why communities rely on dependable fire damage restoration resources.

Today, Cedar Bluffs, Nebraska, remains a close-knit community where local favorites like Todd’s Tavern and Café offer residents a place to gather, relax, and catch up with friends and family. Another popular activity in the area is taking airboat tours along the Platte River, giving locals and visitors a chance to enjoy the scenery and reconnect with the natural landscape that has shaped the town’s identity.

However, living near the river comes with challenges. Cedar Bluffs has long faced elevated flooding risks, but the 2019 statewide disaster remains one of the most devastating events in its history. Heavy rainfall, rapid snowmelt, and widespread river overruns forced families to evacuate, leaving homes, schools, and businesses submerged or severely damaged. Much of the community was impacted by extensive water intrusion, requiring urgent and professional water damage restoration to stabilize structures, protect belongings, and restore daily operations.

During events like the 2019 floods, SERVPRO Team Toft is committed to supporting communities with efficient, reliable water damage restoration services designed to minimize downtime and prevent long-term damage. Our teams understand how overwhelming flood recovery can be, especially for small towns where schools and local businesses are central to daily life. With rapid response, advanced equipment, and experienced technicians, SERVPRO Team Toft works to ensure the cleanup and restoration process runs smoothly from start to finish.

Even in the midst of large-scale disasters, SERVPRO Team Toft crews prioritize both water damage restoration and fire damage restoration depending on the needs of each property, helping buildings return to preloss condition as quickly as possible. Whether it’s a school that needs to reopen, a business that must get back on its feet, or a family home requiring urgent help, Cedar Bluffs can count on SERVPRO Team Toft to respond with expertise and care.

From its historic bluffside beginnings to its ongoing resilience through natural disasters, Cedar Bluffs continues to show strength, and SERVPRO Team Toft is proud to support that resilience whenever severe weather strikes.

What our Cedar Blluffs
customers are saying

I am the property coordinator for a property in Elkhorn. We had water intrusion in the basement and black mold. I first contacted another company, and was very disappointed with the service we received. The following week I contacted SERVPRO. I was immediately contacted and they put me in contact with Jared, the PM. He was professional, responsive, PATIENT, knowledgeable and thorough. He kept me updated in a timely manner. Made the entire process so easy. I would highly recommend Jared and his team!

Lathe and the team did a great job with my home. We just thought a nice deep spring cleaning was needed we have 3 kids and a dog so why not have a clean. We haven't had a cleaning like this in years so my wife and I thought it was necessary. They did a great job. Everyone was very nice and they got the job done in a good amount of time. They were very thorough with their cleaning and the equipment they used really impressed me. I'll definitely be calling them again when it is time for another clean.

Brian, Lathe, and the crew are amazing! I was worried I was going to have to tear up my whole basement, due to water damage, which was newly renovated. They did a great job of making sure that did not have to happen. They gave me a run down of the treatment process. My basement looked great after they were done. So, if anything happens again I'm going to give them a call.
