Norwood Young America, also known as NYA to the locals, merged from Young America and Norwood into on in 1994. Since then, not a whole lot has changed! The merger was initiated by the Norwood Young America Chamber of Commerce who allowed two students from the University of Minnesota to do a study on the benefits. The 1993 study concluded that a merger would be ideal for both cities so here we are! Norwood Young America is now a growing community, rooted in small town values, where you can raise a family, where a business can thrive, and where you can experience loads of activity.

Oh the places you'll go! NYA hosts a wide variety of events from Parks and Recreation Commissions to NYA Senior Events to Holiday Light tours! Norwood Young America has two schools, lots of shopping and retail options, auto body shops, banking, insurance, accounting, childcare, along with health, beauty, and fitness locations. There are also several large manufacturing buildings that supply lots of employment options for the community.
