Welcome to Stockton Springs, ME — Coastal Character Meets Real-World Risks

Nestled along Maine’s Mid-Coast in Waldo County, Stockton Springs is a scenic maritime community located between Belfast and Bucksport on Coastal US 1, just south of the Penobscot Narrows Bridge. With its rocky shoreline, wooded hills, and classic New England homes, the town offers peaceful coastal living — but that same environment brings unique restoration challenges.

Older houses with wood frames and clapboard siding share space with newer builds and small businesses along Route 1. The area’s salt air, shifting weather, and aging infrastructure can take a toll, making issues like leaks, mold, and storm damage common. That’s where SERVPRO’s experience in water damage restoration, fire damage restoration, and reconstruction comes in — combining local insight with national resources.

What Is There to Do in Stockton Springs?

Despite its small size, Stockton Springs is rich in natural beauty and local history. A must-see attraction is Fort Point State Park, located on Cape Jellison. Visitors can explore the Fort Pownall ruins, walk the shoreline trails, or picnic with panoramic views of Penobscot Bay. The historic Fort Point Light Station still stands watch over the coast, symbolizing the town’s deep maritime roots.

For those who prefer beaches, Sandy Point Beach offers soft sand and calm surf, perfect for families. Inland, scenic trails at the Mount Tuck Preserve showcase forest and bay views. Residents enjoy quiet charm with access to nearby towns like Belfast and Bucksport for dining, shopping, and arts.

Living here means embracing coastal life — and accepting that proximity to the sea brings specific property risks, from humidity and corrosion to wind-driven storms and flooding.

Water Damage Restoration in Stockton Springs, ME

Coastal weather and older construction make water issues common in Stockton Springs. Salt-heavy air, snowmelt runoff, and high tides can overwhelm drainage systems or seep into basements. Historic homes with aging plumbing and insulation face even greater challenges.

When water invades, it can quickly damage wood, drywall, and insulation, while creating conditions for mold. SERVPRO provides emergency water extraction, drying and dehumidification, and full repair or reconstruction for both homes and commercial buildings. From a harbor-side rental to a business along Route 1, our team restores your property quickly and completely.

Fire Damage Restoration

While coastal air may be cool, older wood-frame homes and mixed-use buildings face significant fire risks. Outdated wiring, older heating systems, and dense vegetation around structures can all contribute. Even small kitchen fires leave lingering odors and corrosive smoke residues.

SERVPRO handles fire damage restoration from start to finish — cleaning soot, removing smoke odors, repairing structures, and rebuilding interiors. Our team understands how Maine’s humid coastal climate affects cleanup, and we tailor our methods to restore your property safely and efficiently.

Storm Damage Response & Cleanup

Stockton Springs experiences its share of powerful nor’easters, windstorms, and freezing rain. Coastal gusts can tear off siding, topple trees, or cause roof leaks. Heavy snow and rain often lead to basement flooding and interior water intrusion.

Our SERVPRO team provides board-up and tarp-up services, debris removal, structural drying, and full reconstruction. Whether a tree crashes through your roof or water floods your business, we respond fast to protect and restore your property.

Mold Remediation

The coastal humidity in Stockton Springs creates perfect conditions for mold growth, especially in basements, attics, and behind old siding. Once mold spreads, it can compromise indoor air quality and damage building materials.

Our certified technicians perform mold inspection, containment, removal, and cleanup, ensuring both residential and commercial properties remain safe and healthy. Whether you own a historic home near Fort Point State Park or a small shop downtown, we’ll eliminate mold at the source and prevent it from returning.

What our Stockton Springs
customers are saying

My 82 year old bedridden mothers sewer backed up and flooded her basement. We called SERVPRO 800 number and explained our dire situation. Late in the day and we where trying to figure out how to relocate mom. We received a call from Jon at SERVPRO of Bangor/Ellsworth and he said they were coming now, like in route, on the way. I thought it would take days to coordinate this clean up effort. Nope they dropped everything and are mobilized and will be on site within the hour. In disbelief I watched two trucks a bunch of guys and ton of equipment and they were on it. They work tirelessly and before we new it mom had a livable house, we never had to relocate. That day we were blessed with hero’s. Thanks to Bangor/Ellsworth SERVPRO. I will always recommend this company.

You guys are worth every word and penny of the service you provide. If you need a hero, call SERVPRO!

Thanks for all your help getting the ball rolling on so many fronts, with all of the contractors and your crew. It's nice to know that there are people out there who take pride in their job and show up when people call, especially when they have emergencies. I'm going to tell everyone about you, so  if anybody has problems they can call on weekends and not have to worry about people flaking out on emergency calls and not show up. Kudos to you and your top-notch crew!

Had to use the services of this company this past weekend. They had a timely response and the workers who came to resolve the issue were extremely pleasant. Hope not to have to use the service again but if we do, then this will be the company we call and will refer others to their services.

I want to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to the SERVPRO professionals that came to our rescue when we had a water issue in our basement. In particular, John Symonds was the best!! His prompt response was very welcoming and his knowledge and professionalism was evident. We initially thought the water had entered the basement though a window, but John quickly dismissed this theory when we discovered a floor drain that had backed up. This was a great relief to us. When we discovered the damage after being away for two weeks, we were very proactive and did some damage control by pulling up saturated rugs and flooring. John had great praise for us for doing this and mentioned this would help in the cleanup of the mess. He had equipment in our home very quickly and had us drying out in a record amount of time. We learned to trust him because of his honesty with us and professional demeanor. We were scheduled to go on vacation and could not cancel. We felt confident enough with John to give him a key to the house so he could have access to do his job. We don't do this normally, but felt comfortable enough with him to allow it.We can't say enough good about John and the company he works for. Great job!!!

I just wanted to thank you all for being so quick to respond to our water problem on Friday.  We were all kind of in panic mode and didn’t really know where to start.  I’m glad I thought to call SERVPRO because with your help, we were able to get the water out within a few hours.  We may have lost some things, but without your promptness to our emergency, it could’ve been so much worse.  So, thank you so much for sending Bud out right away.  He showed up with a smile even with all the chaos I’m sure you were all dealing with from Thursday and Friday.  Please let him know how appreciative we are for him showing up so quickly and getting the job done.
