What a fantastic, classic community! Woodford County was organized in 1841 by a committee of pioneers headed by Thomas Bullock ,who came to the Walnut Grove community (now Eureka) in 1835 from his birthplace in Versailles, Woodford County, Kentucky. Eureka was incorporated by an act of the Illinois Legislature on February 23, 1859 and was designated as the Woodford County seat in 1894.

Eureka is known for Eureka College, a private liberal arts college associated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the alma mater of president Ronald Reagan. Reagan graduated in 1932 with a degree in economics and sociology and, throughout his life, remained very close to the college. Reagan returned to the town at least twelve times, including twice as President of the United States.

Also, Ben Zobrist (b. 1981), All-Star Major League Baseball player and Most Valuable Player in the 2016 World Series for the Chicago Cubs, was born and raised in Eureka. He had a large impact on the Chicago Cubs baseball club for several years and is still important today in Cubs/Eureka history.

My basement flooded from June Storms -I called Serv Pro and spoke with Dave. He was extremely helpful and came out with James to assessment the basement and remove the padding under carpet which was soaked. They checked walls and for any mold. They set up blowers and pulled carpet back. Dave came back with Devon 2 more times to follow up and ensure everything was up to par.
