McClellan Park Cleanup and Restoration

McClellan Air Force Base, was established in 1935. With the base came an influx of job availability for both civilians and military. With a diverse growth of population, the foundation for what is now McClellan Park was being built.

In 1995 it was announced that McClellan Air Force Base would be closed. This closure at the time seemed like a destructive blow to the area, causing more then 10,000 jobs lost. Now, years later McClellan Park has a mix of different business in the area and has became a growing business territory.

McClellan Park has done a lot of rebuilding and continues to prosper. They still have the McClellan Base Exchange, McClellan Commissary, and McClellan VA Outpatient Clinic. The base airport is now Sacramento McClellan Airport, and there is a wonderful Aerospace Museum of California featuring many of the now retired military aircraft.
