Mesa, Washington is known for its legendary fishing and is heavily influenced by agriculture. Mesa has Poe Park and Duck Pond for residents to enjoy. It is part of Franklin County in southern Washington state. The town is small with an estimated population of 513 people. Route 395 connects Mesa with Interstate 82 in the Tri-Cities to the southwest. Climate in Mesa is mild year round with seasonal weather patterns like fog and rain. 

How did Mesa become Mesa? 

Mesa has had a few names, including Bluff Wells, then Judson. It was a stop on the Northern Pacific Railroad, and the station was established in 1883. The area around Mesa was settled by Native Americans, including the Okanogan people. The first Europeans arrived around 1811 when fur traders from Canada traveled through the area searching for beaver pelts. The Columbia Basin Irrigation Project brought water to the area in 1948, and Mesa officially became incorporated on June 23, 1955. Mesa is now considered a small town supported by dryland farming, irrigated farming, and livestock.
