Brief History on Island View
The history of Island View, Washington began in the late 1800s and early 1900s when the unincorporated town was carved out of the vast forested lands of south Benton County. The town took its name from the largest local landmark: a 50-foot high hill that formed an island in a small pond. This "island" was once home to an Indian village, who named it "Ah-Hu-Kah" or "high mound."
