South Hackensack is a township in Bergen County, NJ. Established in 1935, South Hackensack is comprised of 3 discontinuous or not connected areas. The northeastern, mostly residential area borders Hackensack, Little Ferry, and Teterboro. A small western portion, known as Garfield Park, is between Garfield, Lodi, Wallington, and Wood-Ridge. The third section is to the south and is a small sliver of land containing only industrial properties between Carlstadt, Moonachie, and Ridgefield. The town is easily accessed from Interstate Route 80, state route 17, and county route 503.
Much of the town is comprised of businesses in and around the area of the post office. These include Park Ave Motors, Restaurant Depot, the Goodwill outlet, and advantage outfitters. Just off Route 80 is the elementary school, Memorial School. Just north of Route 80 is the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. There are a few restaurants along Huyler Street if you are looking for a bite to eat or a cocktail.
