The Village of Ridgefield Park is located in Bergen County NJ. Established in 1892, the village is surrounded by Bogota, Hackensack, Leonia, Little Ferry, Palisades Park, Ridgefield, and Teaneck. The town is well known for it large 4th of July Parade which is believed to be one of the oldest in the country. On a personal note, I largely remember Ridgefield Park because they host an annual wrestling tournament each year and I won first place.
The village is home to some large businesses. Many of these offices are located in Overpeck Corporate Office Park on Challenger Road on the east side of the village (east of I-95), to the south of Bergen County's Overpeck Park. There is an AMC Movie Theater and Hilton Garden Inn Hotel. Corporate residents of Overpeck Corporate Park include the headquarters of Samsung Electronics America and American Stock Transfer.
The downtown section of town is located along Main Street north of the First United Methodist Church. It is an easy walk from the church northward just a little beyond the police department. Local restaurants include Sofrito Latin Cuisine, Palermo’s Bakery, Sebas’ Restaurant, Kiseki Japanese Restaurant, Roll House Dragon, and Bob-O’s Cheesesteaks. During the Covid-19 pandemic, SERVPRO was proud to provide Covid cleanings to many local businesses to help them remain safe and open during that time.
