The History of Foristell, Missouri
Foristell is a fast growing community of approximately 5 square miles and lies within miles of St. Charles County on I-70. Peruque Creek flows past the south side of the city. The city now known as Foristell started in 1856 under the name "Millville". The first homes, as well as a railroad, were constructed in that year. The Millville post office was built in 1858. The community saw rapid growth during the Civil War. A mill and tobacco factory were both established during those years. It was also during this time that a man by the name of Pierre Foristell gained respect throughout the community. The town of Millville officially changed its name to Foristell in 1875. The City is now home to a little over 500 residents who enjoy the beautiful sights Foristell has to offer.
Foristell is home to Indian Camp Creek Park and Towne Park, which are operated by St. Charles County. Indian camp creek is St. Charles County's largest park with 603 acres that includes more than 10 miles of multi-use trails for hiking, biking, and equestrian use. Other amenities the park has to offer are camping sites, fishing, a disc golf course, playgrounds, and picnic centers. Towne Park is also a popular park in Foristell with 109 acres of natural surface trails, a large fishing pond, picnic areas, and a series of interlinked scenic rain gardens for the public to enjoy.
