Savage is a suburban city 15 miles (24 km) south-southwest of downtown Minneapolis in Scott County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. Savage has grown into a developing bedroom community, absorbing population booms from it's neighboring city, Burnsville. Savage has become an industrial manufacturing job center in the southern metro. Fun fact: the town was renamed Savage after Marion Willis Savage, who was the owner and personal trainer of the nationally celebrated racing horse Dan Patch. Parts of Savage are located in the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge.
