Hartwell was founded in 1854 as seat of the newly formed Hart County. Located in central Hart County, it sits 4 miles southwest of Lake Hartwell, which acquired its name from the city.
Hartwell was incorporated as a town in 1856 and as a city in 1904. The town was named for Revolutionary War figure Nancy Morgan Hart. Nancy single handedly captured a squad of British soldiers who had invaded her home.
Hart County is the only one Georgia's 159 counties named in honor of a woman. Hart county is also one of only two counties in the entire United States named after women.
One of Hartwell's main features is Lake Hartwell, a man-made reservoir bordering Georgia and South Carolina on the Savannah, Tugaloo, and Seneca Rivers. Lake Hartwell is one of the southeast's largest and most popular recreation lakes.
The lake is created by Hartwell Dam and comprises nearly 56,000 acres (230 km²) of water with a shoreline of 962 miles. Numerous Georgia State and Corps of Engineers parks are available to the public.
Hartwell is located on the Piedmont Plateau region, along the eastern side of the Appalachian Mountains. At just above 800 feet, its elevation is some of highest on this plane east of the Appalachians between Hartwell and Canada Making this a beautiul area to tour and be of service with Fire and Water damage Restoration.
This unique terrrain allows for air damming. In summer months, it can cause warmer conditions than areas further south. In winter, cold air coming down from Canada can pool up causing frequent ice storms. This same geographical feature can also cause frequent drought. My elderly mother made a huge mess last night when she did not make it to her bedside toilet. We called several companies, and your company was able to come the soonest. We explained our embarrassing situation and Nicholas explained that it is no big deal, that you deal with that sort of thing all the time. He went above and beyond setting my wife at ease, that it was really no big deal. When your crew arrived, right when they said they would I might add, Nicholas preceded to assure me that it was no big deal and that they would do their best to make it "Like it never even happened."
Well, they did a fantastic job. Nicholas went over everything with me, he was exceptional in explaining what they would do and what we should expect. I couldn't have been more pleased. The crew that did the work got right at it and having been a Gen. Manager for most of my career, dealing with a labor force of tradesmen, I can tell you they were not fooling around. As I watched, it was obvious that they were doing their very best to give us the best possible job they could. No cutting corners or going through the motions. When the job was done, the transition was amazing. The room was clean and smelled very nice, and that - believe me - was a transformation!
I couldn't be happier with the service you offered, the job that was done, and the crew that was responsible start to finish. They should all be commended. Thank you for the fine job you did today, it was a real blessing.
Great kind, and personable, and professional team from start to finish. Modestly priced for all that they did and that was a lot. Went above and beyond and we felt very taken care of as old folks. Black mold remediation, sanding, scrubbing, fogging, drying, vapor barrier and inspections. Kudos to this SERVPRO group. We are very satisfied.
