Hurlburt Field is a United States Air Force (USAF) installation that is in the greater Eglin Air Force Base in Okaloosa County, Florida. It houses the headquarter of the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), the 1st Special Operations Wing (1 SOW), the USAF Special Operations School (USAFSOS) and the Air Combat Command's (ACC) 505th Command and Control Wing.  

Hurlburt Field is named for First Lieutenant Donald Wilson Hurlburt, who died in a crash at Eglin.  

Hurlburt began operations as a small training field for Eglin Field before the USAF became independent of the United States Army. While Hurlburt is geographically part of Eglin AFB, it is administratively separate. 

Hulburt Field houses both flying and nonflying units. The former includes several special operations air squadrons. The latter includes the USAF Warfare Center, the USAF Weapons School, training and tactical squadrons, and a slew of intelligence and evaluation units.
