In 1851 the village of Eagle Wisconsin was established when the southern branch of the Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad came through the town. It received its name when 3 settlers named Thomas Sugden, John Coats and William Garton came upon a large prairie. As they stood, admiring the site, they noticed a huge bald eagle soaring overhead. This is what gave them the inspiration to give it the name it is today.
Eagle was nearly renamed Diamond City when a diamond was discovered here in 1876. While digging a well at the summit of what is today called Diamond Hill, workers found a yellow pebble, which was eventually identified as one of the largest glacial diamonds ever found in the United States. The diamond ended up at New York’s American Museum of Natural History but unfortunately was stolen in 1964 along with several other gems, including the Star of India sapphire.
Over the years the village of Eagle with its fine natural springs became known for resorts like Eagle Springs and Paradise Springs. Unfortunately with the natural springs and other bodies of water in the area, threats of flooding during the spring and summer months can increase. A crew of 4 young ladies came to clean an old farm house that we were about to move into. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned fo 20 years, no exaggeration!!! They dug in at got rid of all the grime, iron and hard water stains. The thoroughly cleaned the bugs out of all the window. They washed the walls, ceilings and the inside of all the cupboards. We hired SERVPRO to clean our home we just purchased because it was smoked in. They gave us a line by line quote detailing what they’d clean. We were excited for the thoroughness and decided to move forward with their service even though it was a little more expensive than we anticipated. I am sad to say they didn’t do a thorough job at all. After they left I found myself redoing most of their work. When I reached out to the project manager to let them know, they gave us a very small amount of money back on our invoice which didn’t cover nearly enough for the amount of work we had to redo. I wouldn’t waste time hiring them and just go with a regular cleaning service who won’t charge you an arm and a leg and will probably deliver much higher quality work.
I had hired several companies in the past to tend to my ongoing mold problem and nobody could help me. Finally after SERVPRO came to the rescue my mold issue was resolved. The process from scheduling to servicing was reassuring, professional and at the end, effective.
