Located in the northeastern section of the City of Portsmouth sits the town of Parkview. Annexed in 1894, it was the City’s first residential suburb north of the downtown commercial area. The town got its name from the Naval Hospital park to its east which was the only publicly accessible park in the city at the time. The city’s population grew quickly as Portsmouth became one of Virginia’s major shipping and industrial areas. Many of Parkview’s residents would have been employed by the various steamship or railroad lines in the area. Today the area is still a main shipping point with Port Norfolk just a few miles away as well as Pinners Point Container Yard. For fun you’ll find Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion nearby to enjoy some live music, you can drop your boat at the Portsmouth Boating Center, or even join the Portsmouth Yacht Club, who’s boats all reside in Parkview.

Despite its historic charm, Parkview is unfortunately not immune to the dangers of fire and water damage. Every piece of furniture was wrapped with moving blankets and plastic wrap, even the items we would never have done that for ourselves. Phenomenal service, you are in great hands with ServPro of Chesapeake. “Like it never even happened” is their very accurate tagline. We had an oven fire contained by emptying an entire fire extinguisher canister. Sticky dust went everywhere in the house. The cleaning crew led by Chris and Marco tackled every inch of the house - cabinets and blinds, floors, walls, ceiling fans. An extremely hard-working team, with very high standards for cleanliness, restored our house to mint condition. Similarly, our HVAC cleaning experts, Scott and Jeff, professionally cleaned our ductwork and HVAC system.
