Wagener is a rural small town near Aiken, South Carolina. The land was originally owned by the Gunter Family using it as farm land. After the Civil War, the town was named after George Wagener who was a merchant involved in good exchange and railroad services. A town park located in the center of downtown makes the place where the railroad beds were at one time. Today, the Wagener Museum is in operation in order to educate residents of the town’s agricultural and industrial history since the late 1800s. There is also a library called the Greg Humphries Church History Library, storing rare texts and local artifacts. Wagener is a town about twenty miles from Aiken, tucked away in a quiet rural part of South Carolina. This town features authentic country living, will all the advancements of neighboring larger towns. It boasts large horse farms and traditional homes that make life on the farm look like a dream!
