Once the richest town in colonial America die to its' booming rice trade, the town fell on hard times after the Civil War. However, Georgetown is currently undergoing a renaissance as is the rest of the South Carolina Coast with tourists from across the nation discovering the unrivaled beauty and mild climate that this area has to offer. Made for outdoor activities, the numerous rivers, marshes, bays, and the Atlantic Ocean attract lovers of boating, fishing, crabbing, kayaking, and canoeing, not to mention experiences for those who just want to take in the beautiful environment loaded with wild life including herons, cranes, geese, and other water fowl.
Brimming with history, festivals, food, and fun, this exceptional community has an outsized footprint that attracts locals and tourists alike. The Georgetown Wooden Boat Show held annually in October, is just one example of the unique activities the town has to offer.
For those more interested in history and a chance to step back in time, a visit to one of the beautifully restored rice plantations such as The Hampton, Hopsewee, Brookgreen Green Gardens and Hobcaw Barony is well worth the trip.
Accommodations are plentiful for such a small town, including many quaint bed and breakfast rentals, waterfront hotels, and the opportunity to spend the night at a local plantation. Dining is excellent with lots of local produce and fresh seafood on the menu.

Your company has assisted my wife and me on two occasions in the last three years. Both situations involved one of our HVAC systems leaking and damaging our reclaimed heart pine floors. The first was due to the HVAC company employee error. The second was due to the age of the same equipment.
SERVPRO performed the clean-up for both accidents. In the first incident, we decided to use the flooring company to do the restoration that the original owner used when building the home. Not a good idea. It was very slow, not a very good job and poor communication.
After installing new HVAC systems we decided to use SERVPRO for the entire process for the second incident. This was the smartest move we could have made. We had worked with Alex Shalyapin on our first clean-up and felt
very confident with his work. When we realized we he would be the contact person we were very relieved.
