Aiken, South Carolina is a true southern gem. The city was founded in 1835 and is named after William Aiken, President of the South Carolina Railroad. As the years progressed many visitors of wealth and culture came to winter here and established residences. The golden era for the “winter colony “began in the 1890’s when Thomas Hitchcock began to bring his friends and in turn their horses. The horses provided the aristocratic sports of Polo and foxhunting. Hitchcock Woods is among the largest urban forests in the nation. Louise Hitchcock hosted the first Aiken Horse Show in the Woods, a tradition that continues to this day. Mementoes and relics from this era can be found at the Aiken County Museum and the Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame. Aikens love for horses comes to a crest during Aiken’s Triple Crown. This is three successive weekends of harness racing, Aiken trials and Steeplechase. Aiken was named the “Best Small town of the South” by Southern Living Magazine.
In Aiken, golf rivals riding as the favorite sport. The Palmetto Golf Club was founded in 1893. The Augusta National Golf club was established in 1932 and is 15 miles east of Aiken, South Carolina. The first Masters Tournament was held there in 1934. Also, located in Aiken is the regional campus of the University of South Carolina, home of the Pacers. USC Aiken is ranked in the top three public baccalaureate colleges in the South by U.S. News & World Report’s guide "Best Colleges" for twenty-two consecutive years.

We had a small problem that they kept small they came the next day and made sure there would be no residual problems after they dried everything out. I highly recommend this company.
