Portage is a borough located in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. The population of Portage was 2,837 as of the 2010 census. Portage is located along State Route 119 in northern Washington County and eastern Indiana County. It is just south of Titusville, home to the Wham-O toy company. Portage is the home of one of the oldest K-12 educational institutions in the United States, Portage Trail Community School District. The name is derived from the early French term for carrying place, reflecting its importance as part of a major portage route from Fort Ligonier to Fort Duquesne (now Pittsburgh).
History of Portage
Portage is located in the beautiful Allegheny National Forest and was once a major trade route through the area. The history of Portage, Pennsylvania is interesting, and can be a topic for individuals who are interested in finding out all about our town. Portage has been here since at least 1773, when it was first mentioned in the records of Berks County. The earliest known settlers were German migrants who were attracted by the prospect of work building the county's canal system.The area was originally called Mahanoy and later Mahanoy City until 1895. Portage, Pennsylvania was then incorporated as a borough in 1878, under the name of "Portage."

He was kind and very open minded to anything that we wanted! He definitely puts his customers first, and did what he could to make sure we were pleased with the final outcome! Rusty and Rick were a two man crew, who primarily did all of our work! They both were very exceptional to work with! They spent a lot of time on the details, and making sure we were happy with everything before they would even start certain projects in the bathroom! There were some minor issues that they ran into with it being an older bathroom. They overcame any obstacles that they faced with this remodel! We had an image of what we wanted our bathroom to look like at the end, and it is definitely what we wanted and always wished for! We are all very pleased and appreciative of all the hard work that went into making this possible for us! Thank you so much guys!
