Kennett Square has a rich history and community presence in Chester County.  This small town is known as the Mushroom Capital of the World, and over a million pounds of mushrooms are produced in this region daily.  Kennett Square is a popular town for not only its annual Mushroom Festival, but also for its parks and attractions including the beautiful Longwood Gardens.  Tourists to the area can also visit the Mushroom Cap, a mushroom farm that has been operating since 1946 and is now a local shop and visitor center for those in search of a piece of local history.  The town hosts parades for various holidays, and our franchise has been proud to be a part of them annually.

Originally inhabited by the Lenape Native Americans, the land has an extensive history in our nation’s military background.  During the Revolution, the British and groups of mercenaries used the small town to move on through battle, and the Battle of the Brandywine has also been recorded in this area.  During the war of 1812, soldiers set camp on the land, and even more history was made during the Civil War.

Due to the rich soil of the land, early settlers in this area were farmers who transported their produce to local markets.  Kennett Square experiences more rainfall than average for the United States, leading to an abundance of crops but also its susceptibility for flooding and storm damage.  The area’s climate is prone to several disasters, but our team can respond at a moment’s notice to provide water or fire damage restoration services.
