Dushore is a very small rural town located in the northern part of Pennsylvania and is roughly 50 miles north of Bloomsburg. General Cornwallace Jackson was the first settler of Dushore way back in 1825. A French Navy captain by the name of Aristide Aubert Dupetit-Thouars was the original founder of Dushore. Until 1859 when Dushore was incorporated from Cherry Township it went by Jackson’s Hollow, Mosier’s Hollow and Headleyville. Dushore is home to Sullivan Counties ONLY traffic light and is considered the center of commerce for business and industry in Sullivan County. It is also home to NASCAR driver L.W. Miller. The Sullivan Review which is a weekly newspaper, that has been published in Dushore since the mid 1800s.
