Crestmont Farms was originally a 40-acre farm divided amongst 70 single-home sites. The farm had been on the land since the early 1700s. Thomas R. Coale was the developer and president of the Crestmont Farms Improvement Company. Nearly all of the homes are single-family homes. Nearly all of the homes in the area were built in the 1950s and 60s, keeping the town's historic charm alive. Thomas Coale's home is a historical site that still remains in the area, although, it has since been turned into a private residence.
