History of Bellefonte
Bellefonte was settled in 1836 by a group of men who wanted to establish a town in Centre County. Walter T. Mattoon purchased the land for $4,000 and named the village Bellefonte after his wife's maiden name, Isabelle Fonte. At that time, Bellefonte was called "Mattoonville." During both world wars, the area became an important center of industrial production, due to its proximity to Carnegie Steel Company's Homestead Works. In 1972 the borough merged with the University Park township to form the municipality of State College, PA and today the name serves as a reminder of the history that gives our town its charm and character.

We suffered a major flood in our ground floor condo unit which had a water supply line into the unit burst due to too high water pressure. We contacted SERVPRO of Happy Valley right away who were on the job quickly and took out the flooring, wet drywall other aspects damaged by the flood. They then set up drying and related equipment to dry things out and treat for any mold.
They did a great job. Because of that success we engaged SERVPRO to do the reconstruction which included new floors throughout the unit, installing baseboard, trim, painting, dry wall repair, etc. they did an excellent job on the reconstruction.
