Located on the shores of Indian Lake you will find the small village of Russell’s Point. In 1924 Sandy Beach Amusement Park was built next to the lake that featured a roller coaster, ferris wheel, merry-go-round, funhouse, boat excursions, a penny arcade and food concessions. There was also a boardwalk to give people access to Sand Beach Island. This was a popular tourist destination that brought many to the area. The park survived the great depression in the 1930’s and continued to thrill crowds until it closed in 1976. While the park is closed residents can still access Sandy Beach Bridge, once used as a pedestrian bridge to connect the two sides of the park, it is the only structure left from the park. Russell’s Point remains a popular summer resort destination to this day offering food, entertainment, and lake access.

This region in Ohio is characterized by four distinct seasons. Winters are cold, summers are muggy, and there is significant precipitation year-round making the area susceptible to water damage.  The winter months bring with it snow, ice and frigid temperatures causing potential pipe freezing and burst.
