Plumsted Township has a rural feel with a population of a little over 8,000 and a little over 40 square miles. We may be on the smaller side but we are very community driven. We have passionate volunteers that operate our fire station. Our families with children spend lots of time on our recreation field which includes four baseball fields, a football field, two softball fields, and a basketball court and three small fields used for tee ball.
The township was named for Clement Plumstead, an English Quaker who bought a large parcel of land, but never set foot in the area. In the 1900s Oakford Lake, located in the middle of the town, thrived as a tourist and vacation attraction. Our historical society offers a collection of distinct vintage pictures most of which have never ever been publicized. They aim to preserve the relics and historical documents to educate the citizens regarding the history of the area. Brindletown was once a village home to a hotel, a mill, and large estates overlooking Brindle Lake. Brindletown was purchased by the federal government to expand Camp Dix in the 1920s. Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area is a 12,906.63-acre wildlife management area located partially in our township with freshwater ponds that provides habitat for wading birds and waterfowl.
We are known for our Christmas farms: Old Silo Farm, Evergreen Farms and Yuletide Tree Farm. Dress warm! The weather can be cold while deciding between all the different styles and sizes of trees.

I had a pretty big issue with a flood in my bathroom, bedroom and a few smaller rooms. Roland Miller and his partner Jim did a great job educating me on the process and then performing the required cleanup They put my mind at ease (as much as possible) given the circumstances. I recommend them highly.
We had a sizable amount of water damage due to a problem with our refrigerator. We notified SERVPRO of Jackson/Lacey on a Wednesday afternoon, and the crew arrived promptly the next morning. Roland and Marvey were wonderful as were the rest of the team. All work to be done was explained clearly and thoroughly. Everyone took the utmost care when moving our furniture and packing contents of the drawers. They made a stressful situation more tolerable. All workers were totally professional, yet extremely personable and friendly. I would highly recommend them to my friends and neighbors and would welcome Roland, Marvey and any of the crew back into my home without hesitation. When the job was finished, we felt as though we were saying goodbye to friends rather than workers! Such a great group of competent and respectful men.
