Columbus is a small rural city located between Memphis and Marysville in St. Clair County. The city was named after Christopher Columbus when it was established in 1837. Columbus is known as St. Clair County's ghost town. It was originally just a postal stop and also had a railroad track, but once the postal office closed, there were no other businesses left except the old grain elevator. The city is best known for its county park. The Belle River runs through the park and an old train bridge can be seen full of graffiti while walking along the trail next to the river. The park also contains a playground and a large hill that is perfect for sledding in the winter. Columbus County Park is also a great photography destination, as beautiful fall colors can be captured towards the end of the year, and great photos can be taken of the peaceful environment in the summer, as well. The park is also a great place to walk with a friend and catch up on things. Columbus is also home to a disc golf course and several competitions are held throughout the year. The city is home to many old farmhouses that are more likely to have water and electrical problems that can cause floods or fires. We had storm damage in the spring of 2024. Due to missing shingles which caused a lot of water damage. We called ServPro one of 3 companies that our insurance co. gave us to pick from. In less then a hour they were there to seal up our roof. We gave them the contract to do all the repairs on our house. I have to say these people are on the ball, they worked with our insurance adjuster, who was not the easiest person to work with. Also the sub contractors that they used, did a superb job, better then we expected. There foreman Mike was always easy to get a hold of and kept us informed about the job. Rob the owner was very nice and handled a lot of the work that went on behind the scenes. The whole staff at ServPro was great to work with. Thanks so much to Susan and Rob and Scott and our buddy Mike and also Benny for the puppy fix.

Servpro was hired Derek and the crew came out in a jiffy mitigated the problem that was extremely hard and challenging to get to in order to fix problem of the excessive amount of water accumulation in the crawl which has been resolved and the crawl is dry with no issues as of now
