Waldoboro, Maine is one of the oldest cities in the state, and it’s a town full of history. The first settlers arrived in 1677 and named the area after Waldemar, a Danish prince. Waldoboro was incorporated as a town in 1802. The town grew from there with many businesses established and became quite prosperous until 1852 when the railroads came through and diverted their trade elsewhere.
