Tucked away along the Ohio River, sits the small city of Catlettsburg, Kentucky. With the last census totaling only 1,720 residents, Catlettsburg is known as a small gem in eastern Kentucky. While small in size, Catlettsburg is rich in American history.



This rich history began when Alexander Catlett was on his western trek along the Ohio River in the following years of the American Revolution. The Catlett family was the first settling family and began to develop the land into what it stands today. In addition, the city also served as a Union Army supply during the Civil War, with the First Presbyterian Church on 28th and Broadway serving as a Union Hospital.
