Belfry is the preferred city name by the postal service. Yet, Aflex, Burnwell, Goody, Hatfield, Toler and Turkey Creek are also acceptable. Hatfield is a city in Kentucky and consists of 33 neighborhoods. Situated on just over 50 square miles there's a lot to see and do! Belfry may not be as popular as other cities in United States, but don’t let that fool you. Belfry is a smaller but beautiful upcoming tourist destination that is worth a visit. You will be surprised by some of the unique things to do and places you can explore at this hidden destination. You might wish to revisit it someday again, to take a break and relax at Blackberry Fork Park or the Belfry Branch Library. Maybe spend the day exploring Aunt Betty McCoy's House and learning about the famous Hatfield & McCoy feud. A post office was established in the community in 1903, and named for its first postmaster, James F. Hatfield. The post office closed in 1925. James Ferrell Hatfield born 1870 13 Oct - Ransom, KY died 1937 25 Oct - Pike Co, KY. He married Elizabeth "Betty" Ball and they had 11 Children. Hulda Jane Hatfield, William Howard "Billy" Hatfield, Lydia Ferrell "Liddie" Hatfield,Francis Marion "Uncle Pick" Hatfield, Frederick Bryan "Fred" Hatfield, John Beckham Hatfield, Anderson D Hatfield, Edna Alley "Aunt Ed" Hatfield, Hugh Chellis "Uncle Shell" Hatfield, Tiny Hatfield and Pricy Mae Hatfield.
