Silver City, Iowa is a city in Mills County, Iowa. The population at the 2020 census was 245. Silver City started in 1879 when they built the Wabash, St. Louis and Pacific Railway through the territory. Now a bike trail, there is a small park with a gazebo and a cafe. In its busiest time Silver City was home to many things like a lumber yard, grocery store, horse racing track, jewelry store, pharmacy, and other businesses. Annually a carnival would visit the town as well.
Silver City had three disastrous fires in their past. The first one was on Main Street when there were only two buildings.
