Alden Community School District serves the town's community. Alden is home to the smallest endowed Carnegie Library in the entire United States, which I found really sweet, and would love to someday visit. It was gifted by Andrew Carnegie himself in November of 1913. The Library was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966, and the building served the town of Alden throughout a span of 85 years. Classic Actor Gordon Jones, who famously starred as the Green Hornet in the series' first two movies, was born in Alden.
