Rebecca was incorporated as a town in 1904 and was named after Rebecca Clark, a local resident. The latest information that was given in 2022, the population is 204 with housing at 103. It is the 16,244th largest city in the US. The poverty percentage has increased to 50.9% as the town is slowly shrinking. The town is not big at all but has history that goes a long way. The earliest building was a simple frame structure and was the church in 1906-1907 was erected. The church was part of the Sycamore Charge with Rev. L.B. McMichael as the pastor. Moving to the Native and Indian history goes back thousands of years. Steady stream of settlers in Indian controlled land, the eastern newspapers circulated sensationalized reports. Those reports were of cruel native tribes carrying out massive massacres to hundreds of white travelers. Native American tribes helped settlers cross the Plains and it happened right here in Rebecca as well. Moving forward to today, Rebecca has a dozen or more local state parks and offerings for families with kids along with the local library. I contacted SERVPRO to help with what we thought was just water damage. SERVPRO sent a team the house right away. Blake and Holden identified the septic tank as the source of the water intrusion. They immediately went to work once the septic tank was serviced. They did a fantastic job drying and disinfecting the house, as well as removing all contaminated materials.
