Coolidge is a small-town Thomas County, Georgia and is located about halfway between Thomasville and Moultrie. Coolidge was founded in 1901 when the Tifton, Thomasville and Gulf railroad was extended throughout the area. It is said that the citizens agreed to name their hometown after the president of the railway company during that time. Coolidge is rich in history with many of the town’s original buildings still intact and in use today, including the train depot and Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church that stands nearly in its original state. Coolidge currently has a library, family recreation park and baseball field.
