Located in north central Florida is the city of Lake City. Lake City is the county seat of Columbia County. Lake City is 60 miles due west of Jacksonville, Florida. Lake City original name was Alligator. Due in part because there was an Seminole settlement near by referred to as Alligator Village. Columbia county was actually formed from Duval and Alachua counties. The name Lake City came about when the city was incorporated in 1858. Lake City has a rice history with the Civil War. The largest battle in Florida took place near by known as The Battle of Olustee. Each year the Olustee Festival is held in downtown Lake City. This mostly consists of arts and crafts and an array of food vendors. The University of Florida was originally located in Lake City, but moved to Gainesville in 1905. The city is now the home to Florida Gateway College. Lake City is know as The Gateway to Florida. Interstate 75 and Interstate 10 intersect just north of Lake City.
It is believed that Hernando de Soto took an expedition from Tampa Bay and arrived in the area. He was met by the Seminole tribe. There were several Seminole communities throughout the early stages. By 1845 the Seminoles left the area or were forced to leave. While the Seminoles were here other areas were establish. The town of Fort White was one of these areas.

Christmas Eve...... Water Everywhere! You had Ronnie, Keith, Jonathon and Barbara onsite within 2 hours! It took all night & Christmas Day but your staff put our problem in front of their own families! That says a lot of how amazing this SERVPRO is.
