Lake Butler is a small tight knit city. It is located in Union County. As of 2020 census the population was 1,986. The history of Lake Butler goes back to 1860. Back at that time a post office was put into operation. A interesting fact is that the city was named after Robert Butler. Robert Butler was once an acting governor of East Florida. He was an American military officer. Robert Butler had a very short term as governor. He actually only served from July 10, 1821 through July 11, 1821. This is when Florida was ceded to the United States from Spain.
The city of Lake Butler actually only has a total area of 1.8 square miles. There also Lake Butler in the city that takes up 0.1 square mile. Lake Butler is home to The Reception and Medical Center. This is actually a state prison. This is a main employer for people in Union County and surrounding counties. The public school system consist one elementary school for pre-k through 4th grade. There a middle school for 5th grade through 8th grade. And there is Union County High School for 9th grade through 12th grade. Union County has had an historic high school football program in past years. One notable alum is CJ Spiller. He went on to play at Clemson University. He later played in the National Football League.

Christmas Eve...... Water Everywhere! You had Ronnie, Keith, Jonathon and Barbara onsite within 2 hours! It took all night & Christmas Day but your staff put our problem in front of their own families! That says a lot of how amazing this SERVPRO is.
