Jasper is located in very north part of Florida. Jasper is located in Hamilton County. It is also the county seat of Hamilton County. Although Hamilton County is inland it is often referred to as a peninsula. The county by land does not touch any other part of Florida. It has the Withlacoochee River on the west and the Suwannee River to the east and south.
Jasper is known for having "The Old Hamilton County Jail". This jail was put on the National Register of Historic Places. It now serves as the Historical Museum for Hamilton County. Also, the United Methodist Church is on th National Register of Historic Places. Stephen Foster State Park is nearby. The main roadways are U.S. Routes 41 and 129. The both run through the center of Jasper. There was a train depot built roughly about mile north of town back around 1865. This was contributed to the completion of the Savannah, Florida and Western railway. Between 1890 and 1930 the town really grew. This was due in large part due to turpentine, tobacco, cotton and pine lumber. But, in the 1920's a lot of change happened. Cotton industry gave way to turpentine industry, turpentine to lumber, lumber to tobacco. Now the main industry is phosphate mining.
As the county is surrounded by water on the east, west and south their is always a chance for flooding. SERVPRO is near by and always ready to help with any fire, water or mold situation. Christmas Eve...... Water Everywhere! You had Ronnie, Keith, Jonathon and Barbara onsite within 2 hours! It took all night & Christmas Day but your staff put our problem in front of their own families! That says a lot of how amazing this SERVPRO is.
