Woodland or Woodland Ferry was part of a Cannon family business for over 100 years. They operated the ferry on the Nanticoke River. Historical research has not discovered an exact date, but evidence suggests that James Cannon established the ferry here between 1734 and 1748. The ferry still operates today. The ferry is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, ferries in continuous operation in the United States. In addition to its longevity, the ferry is of historical importance as one of the locations where slave runner Patty Cannon embarked with kidnapped refugee slaves and free blacks. She shipped them to Georgia where the free blacks were sold into slavery and refugee slaves returned to servitude. The Ferry was established in the 1740s by James Cannon, and operated by his son Jacob after his death. After Jacob's death in 1793, his widow petitioned the Delaware General Assembly for exclusive rights to operate a ferry service across the river. The ferry was privately operated by the Cannon family until the mid-19th century, when the General Assembly authorized the county to operate a free ferry at the location of "Cannon's Ferry". In 1935, the Delaware Department of Transportation assumed responsibility for the operation of the ferry and has continued to operate it into the 21st century. Most of the Woodland area is rural with only several hundred residents.  We have proudly served these residents for almost 30 years with our fire and water remediation services.  The residents also enjoy our cleaning services in addition to the fire and water emergency services.

Our basement was flooded so we had Servpro due two things: initial flood, mitigation, and flood damage restoration. Both aspects were completed quickly and extremely well. We are especially delighted with Servpro’s subcontractors for the reconstruction which included the removal and replacement of carpet and padding and painting of baseboards and door casings. Not only was at work very well done, but the cleanup was exceptional. There was not a trace of dust, dirt, etc. The Servpro project managers for each phase of the work was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. A+ Ratings for all!

Definitely highly recommend they came out in less than 12hrs to help with a A leak that came through Our playroom ceiling from all the snow and rain we just got, they set up machines with dehumidifiers and fans to dry out the area. They came back 2 to 3 days later to take out some of the sheetrock so we can replace it from whatever water it was damaged in They were very respectful knowledgeable, They kept us informed every step of the way definitely made us feel at ease.
