Millsboro Cleanup and Restoration

Located at the intersection of Route 24 and Route 113, Millsboro, DE. is a fast-growing community just 20 miles from the white-sand beaches of Coastal Delaware. Millsboro’s origin, like that of many towns, is an accident of geography. It is situated at the first point on the Indian River, as one proceeds up the river from its mouth, narrow enough to allow for the construction of an earthen dam and bridge with the technology available in the Late 18th Century. Thus the town generally sets the date for its establishment as 1792, the year Elisha Dickerson dammed up the headwaters of the Indian River at the point known as Rock Hole (because of the annual spawning of rockfish there). In fact, there had been a thriving rural farming community in existence in the area for more than a century by that date. Most early white residents were second or third generation residents of the Maryland and Virginia Eastern shore and when they arrived in the area they called “Head of Indian River” the river served as the boundary between the Colony of Maryland and William Penn’s “Three Lower Counties Upon Delaware.” This little town might have started off as a rural area, but today it’s one of the fastest-growing communities in Sussex County. Millsboro is home to a blend of small and large businesses, as well as parks and open spaces, suburban neighborhoods, and plenty of waterfront along the Indian River. It’s popular amongst boaters, beachgoers, golfers, retirees, and those seeking a slower pace of life.  As is the case with many of our local towns; Millsboro is growing in both population and business opportunities.  Millsboro is also home to one of the largest poultry processing companies in the country and the processing facilities, hatcheries and feed plants all add economic stability to the town.  Our water, fire and mold remediation effort assist Millsboro every day.  We have applied our water, fire and cleaning processes to many of the apartment complexes found in this quaint town located in Mid-Sussex.
