Whether you're looking for restoration, cleaning or construction services in Killen, we're here to help 24/7.

Killen is in Lauderdale County along the north bank of the Tennessee River in northwest Alabama. The town became known as Masonville for Joseph Mason, the first postmaster for the post office.  The post office was established in 1826 and operated until 1866. Killen lies just east of the intersection of State Highway 43 and State Highway 72. It owes much of its existence to the canals and locks constructed nearby to ease navigation on the shoals of the river. In the 1830s a construction of canals and locks were constructed to facilitate the shipment of goods, especially cotton. The project would eventually consist of 17 locks and attracted workers and settlers to the area.  The canal was eventually closed in the 1840s due to flooding and a lack of funds. In the 1870s the Army Corps of Engineers would culminate in a nine-lock canal that ran from present day Joe Wheeler State Park to present day Wilson Dam in Florence. The headquarters were located at Lock Six near present day Killen and known as Engineer Camp. The canal closed in 1918 when construction began on Wilson Dam and was eventually submerged when the dam was completed in 1924. During 1895 James Sharp Killen built a store and applied for a post office. Killen became known in 1896. The city was incorporated in 1957. In 1962 a fire department and police department were established. According to a 2020 Census the population of Killen was down with a record of 1,034 people. Of this population Killen residents and business owners need a premier cleanup and restoration company. SERVPRO is prepared to help with your mitigation needs. We specialize in water restoration and fire damage restoration. With two thousand franchises across the United States and Canada we are faster to any size disaster. Outside of water restoration and fire restoration we provide storm restoration, mold remediation and biohazard.

Killen Park provides baseball and tennis facilities. Nearby is the Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club, which features marina services, golf, swimming, and tennis facilities. May, October, and September are the most pleasant months in Killen, while July and January are the least comfortable months.
