South Dallas is an older community of Dallas bounded to the north by I30, the Great Trinity Forest on the south and east, and the Trinity River to the west. A good portion of this region is considered a flood plain and has often been the victim of flooding from the Trinity River. A little history of some of these sites, Fair Park was established in 1886 and was chosen over other big cities in Texas like Houston and San Antonio. The Boulevard – Park Row Historic District is a neighborhood of around 100 homes built in the early 1900s.  It was a Jewish community built around the local temple. Old City Park is a collection of 19th century buildings moved to the area displaying what North Texas was like over 100 years ago.

In the mid 1950s, Dallas was a cradle for Rhythm & Blues.  It was in South Dallas where Ray Charles perfected his craft in well known African-American bars, restaurants and hotels.  1957 Marked the building of Interstate-30 which definitively separated South Dallas from the North.  It has been a locale of perseverance and struggle, with revitalization underway. 

The non-profit home builder Habitat for Humanity and Bonton Farms, a sustainable urban farm, have had a major impact in helping plant the seed of growth and renewal.  The new homes from Habitat for Humanity allow for better plumbing and electrical systems but they make up only a fraction of the domain.  Most of these homes have old, archaic electrical systems and infrastructure.  This can set up for a fire related disaster to occur and the demand for fire damage restoration.  As with water damage mitigation, fires should be addressed by a professional fire damage restoration company.

Excellent service! They showed up on time and put all my concerns at ease after we had a roof leak that caused mold to start growing in the attic insulation and second floor ceiling.
