About Seguin, TX
Seguin is the county seat of Guadalupe County, TX. As of the 2020 census, the population was slightly less than 30,000 people. The economy in Sequin is fueled mostly by the regional hospital and the Schertz-Seguin Local Government Corporation.

The History of Seguin, TX
Seguin is known for being the home of John E. Park. Park experimented with using concrete made from local materials in construction projects. The area had nearly 100 structures made from early 19th-century concrete. It was the largest concentration of these buildings, and about 20 of them are still standing today.
In the early days, the town relied on farmland just outside the city for support. All of that changed with the Texas Oil Boom and the Great Depression.
Currently, the town has a Motorola plant and a Caterpillar plant that serve as the two largest employers in the area.
