Reno was a community originally created for farmers, but as neighboring communities such as Weatherford & Fort Worth began experiencing growth, so did Reno. Reno has a unique history, and was originally discovered in the early 1880’s. Following this unique history, there is actually another Reno Texas located in Lamar County. Both towns have discussed a name change, however neither have received enough votes in favor to do so. Reno is known to be an ‘up and coming’ community - but they still do not have their own independent school district. The community does however partner with two neighboring school districts, Springtown ISD, and Azle ISD to ensure the children are getting adequate education.
The city of Reno prides itself on being a giving community. Being home to several different 510c3 charities such as Our House Food Pantry, and Paws for a Cause. The community is always finding ways to give back.
